Lake Durant
A
narrow road
winds,
about the campsites.
smooth
greenish lake
with
a beach.
from
a point (waterfalls),
Blue
Mountain
stands
in the background
covered
in trees.
Nature's
calm, in breeze
we
walked hand in hand.
Grand
Union Supermarket,
in
Indian Lake , the Chattertons.
(there
is no such thing as a coincidence).
Auction
at
Blue Mountain lake

Center.
the
people were the art.
We
walked into woods
upon
rocks (moss covered)
down
the middle of a creek ,
having
feelings
of
beinq watched.
Re-supplied
at Indian Lake,
in
the dark of night,
we
washed in lake Durant
and
found one and another
in
sleeping bag city.
A
rustle of noises
Clicks,
and grunting -
a
porcupine
bid
us good night.
Steaks,
rice, coffee,
beers,
stars, darkness.
Quiet,
no winds,
country
music
from
across the way.
Warm,
damp sleeping bags
until
birds
brought
our morning.
Eggs,
with rice
(from
last night)
cheese,
toast (surprise)
the
sun comes out
for
our Sunday.
Perhaps
today
a
climb
up
Speculator.
Praise
the lord,
for
this fine day
a
ranger's assistant
raking,
raking, raking.
Sunday
the first of July
said
it all.
