In 1994 I showed my work from 1993, starting with Red # 1. Many comments were made; some of my favorites are these:

"It looks like a young girl having sex with the grim reaper". I wrote his name down.

"I know it's about sex, but I don't know what the golf ball is for." Female Accountant.

From an influence by Stuart Davis, someone said “Looks like African Art to me.”

At his moment there are about two hundred paintings “in the collection of the artist”, piled into my attic. I like to go up there and just sit, every once and awhile. It feels good to be there. They are what I’ve done for the past several years, and they, not me, will survive. I hope one day those I don’t give away will be seen.

Madonna, I like Madonna because she’s openly sexual and pays the price for it. It’s interesting how much trouble the world has with sex.

 – When ever I get too smart for my own good,

Henri Matisse comes by and kicks my ass.

While wandering around the neighborhood with a glass of scotch, Viola, the music teacher, let me try my speed. Small canvas is OK, but the effort gets done too fast.
