This just in
(December 19th, 1999).
For the past year now
I've been assigned to the systems efforts because Pat thought, as my background
was in systems and I was over rated to do what I had been doing, I should be
doing things like take
care of the Y2K "bug". I can't wait for the day one, year two
thousand realization that nothing happened.
Additionally, I was to
change our communication media from one to another, a resting
place of higher quality
and function, integrated, sending messages to people to do "things".
My work of the past
seven years has been erased with the implementation of Work Systems redesign
and I need to get away from the hostile higher ups. Their theory of work seems
to be to get more work from
fewer and fewer people. Next year, with increasing volumes while reducing
people, no other changes would be made.
I wrote this to describe
them, “You can't make people do what they don't want to do”.
The Photochemicals
Worldwide effort came up again, I guess as a result of Tim Cutlers trip to
England to straighten out the Oscar and Kodak/Manugistics (no kidding)
relationships. We were, I'd overheard, "back on the schedule if that Oscar
thing was successfully worked out".
We wait, yet again.
