I'm sitting her on a beautiful afternoon
having just submitted a job description, trying to sum up
just everything that's happened in the
past few days. My boss has left for a higher post and someone
I don't know will soon have me as a
"report". I hope it doesn't turn out that way.
So, just in case, I wrote my own job
description and sent it to Judy, my departing boss, to share with Harvey, whom
she no longer reports to, so he could approve it (as if that were going to
happen).
“I'll get back to you in a few days” says
she. Says I, "OK".
The job description integrates quality,
planning, health, safety and environment as well as building issues and, almost
forgot, do the budget. We'd start with the quality pieces as the current
incumbent
is leaving for a six-month stint in
Brazil, expressing the desire NOT to return to his current job.
Simple, move me for him and we add
another person to take my job. The incumbents return status is now up to
others.
