Why moths fly into flames

You can see them

when spring appears

fluttering in the warm winds of April.

At night

they move towards light

to better see us watching them.

They have little or no color

unlike their brothers

who sleep in the darkness.

Imagine their outrage

for not being butterflies

Moths fly into flames

trying to become butterflies.

We laugh at their foolishness

and wonder where Monarchs come from.
